My 'Lucky' Day

     Today was really lucky... And by lucky I mean not so lucky. Let me tell you exactly what happened...

     So, the first bad luck-ish thing was that my calculator managed to find the perfect time to get spoiled. And just before my mathematics examination too! So I called my friend and asked if she had a spare. Fortunately, she did. But it was the older model. No problem, as long as it gets me through the exam, I thought to myself. But that was the night before and not the only thing thing that was in my way.

     And this morning GUESS WHAT?! I overslept. Yes, I overslept by half an hour! Half an hour!!! and on an examination day! I glanced at the clock 7.20?! My friends were probably all in school by then. Luckily I didn't stay too far away from school. It was just a 5-10 minute drive from my house. Yep, so I grabbed my stuff and dashed out of the house. Needless to say I didn't have breakfast. And then on my way to school I found out my friend had called saying that she had forgotten to bring her spare calculator. But I didn't really mind, I knew I could borrow one from a fellow classmate. And that was the least of my problems at the moment.

     So I got to school thinking I could skip assembly and get to class directly. But just my luck, the prefect directed me to the late corner (or so I call it). I saw some of my classmates standing there so it was good to know I wasn't alone. After assembly, we had to serve our punishments run across the netball court and back, which was already quite fortunate since I've seen worse punishments.

     When we got back to class, I was lucky enough to be able to borrow a calculator from my friend. I guess maybe she hadn't forgotten?  I don't know. Just as I thought things were looking up, I looked at the exam paper we were given and realised it was bloody difficult! (as an Englishman would say) I barely had enough time to check, but I did complete it though.

     I got back home and told my parents what had happened today and they weren't too happy about the punishment part. I had a lot of things on my mind so I decided to take a long cold shower as if it would wash all my bad lucky-ness away. Since it was the exam period, we were released earlier than usual. My siblings were still in school and I had nothing to do, so I settled for a game of 4-in-a-row ~ with myself. It ended up in a tie so that wasn't very exciting. Most days I would be happy if i were the first one home with no one to disturb me, but today I felt... I don't know, bored? Empty? I couldn't explain it. I was just happy most of my exams were over, just one more to go.

     Oh, and the only thing good that happened was that I figured out how to fix my calculator. After the exam...
