Hi guys! Its me again, as usual. I'm actually supposed to be studying my math now but I just can't be bothered. I know, what horrid attitude. Ok, I seem to have forgotten what I was about to type about... Yes, I'm a scatter-brain I know.
Well, okay, nothing much has happened these past few days but, as usual, I got 2nd place in English for my Mid-year Examinations. Ha ha, all those people I'm competing with in studies were like, aww man! so not fair! And I was like: Ha ha! in your faces! I got 2nd place! higher than all of ya!!! (ok, except for the guy in 1st place) But I never would have said that out loud (because I'm way too good for that), instead I just smiled humbly and laughed to myself. See how good I am? Okay, I was just joking I would never be that self-centered. But everyone wants a little humor in a blog right?
AND, today after school my math teacher gave us all a really nice chocolate bar each. Did I mention that chocolate is my weakness? So, anyway, I wanted to save it for later because I wanted to savour it slowly. And I was foolish enough to put it next to me at the bus stop, and when I bent down to tie my shoelaces, this really obnoxious guy in my class walked by and, just like that, took my chocolate bar! MY CHOCOLATE BAR!!! Yes, and he waved it in front of me and ran off just like that. I was like "Calvin!!! come back here!" (btw: not his real name) You might have thought I would jump from my seat and start chasing him. But being my usual lazy self I sat rooted to my seat. Yeah I pretty much couldn't be bothered, I knew he was too fast for me anyways. And it was just a chocolate bar. If he doesn't return it by tomorrow, he's gonna pay...
So, you must be wondering why this blog is called The Joy of Writing and Reading . Here's what you've been waiting for... Okay, for starters, writing or reading is not boring and it is not something a nerd would do. It is something a really sophisticated and smart person would do. Ha ha just joking, you don't have to be sophisticated or smart, you just have love writing and expressing your feelings in this manner.
For example when I'm feeling sad depressed of confused I type a blog entry to sort out my feelings. But you have to watch what you say, really. If you really have to, write a personal letter to yourself. Kinda like a pep talk. And think of something that inspires you, like for me, music inspires me. And it helps me type a better entry, it pours the feelings out of me (if there's such a thing as that). It just helps me think better, the tempo of the music helps me type faster, like the click-clacking of the keyboard in time to the music. Writing just helps me to better express myself. So basically, yes, I write whats on my mind.
And for reading, well, that's another matter. To enjoy reading, the first step is to find a good book . I mean you can't force yourself to like a book you don't like, right? Then, find a nice comfy spot to settle down. For me, I like to curl up with a good book somewhere dark (but not too dark) by the window when its raining . I like the sound of the rain splish-splashing outside while I'm inside nice and warm. And if you have a really good book with you, make sure you have a lot of time on your hands and no one to disturb you.
Don't you hate when you're reading a really good book and you're coming to a really good part and then someone comes and tells you: An lyn, do this. An Lyn do that. An Lyn its too dark. An lyn, lights off, an Lyn time for bed! Ugh! I'm telling you its super annoying! And also don't listen to music while you're reading. I never do that, I only listen to music while I write. Listening to music while reading is really distracting , you take like 5 minutes to read a whole page and it really slows you down. You mind keeps focusing on the music and doesn't concentrate on the words. Sometimes you can read a whole sentence a few times and not notice it. That's because you're not paying attention.
Yeah, so I think that's pretty much it. And I think this has gotta be the longest blog entry ever! Thanks for taking the time to read it.:)
